SUNDAY SCHOOL
“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.” Proverbs 9:10 (NKJV)
The objective of Sunday School is to provide opportunities for children to learn the word of God and grow in their relationship with Christ. The weekly Bible lessons are intended to guide their thinking and their hearts as they strive to maintain a close walk with Jesus.
During His time on earth, Jesus said in Matthew 19:14 (NKJV): “Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of heaven.”
We follow a set curriculum to achieve this goal. Children in Kindergarten to Grade 5 follow the Radiant Life curriculum. This curriculum is theme-based, and we use the Fall, Winter, and Spring packages. Children receive a take-home paper with a memory verse, story, and activity sheet related to the lesson every Sunday. Teachers connect with parents through email to keep them informed about special events and programs.
Children from Grades 6 to 12 follow the SSNAK curriculum. Teachers also have the freedom to teach on topics that students have questions about or would like to delve deeper into. Students in first and second-year university classes have a separate class where they discuss topics related to current events and their daily Christian walk with the Lord.
Sunday School classes are held every Sunday morning from September to June. In July, we run Vacation Bible School for students from Kindergarten to Grade 6.
Our criteria for dividing classes are based on the ages of students and the number of students in each age group. We revisit the organization of classes before each new Sunday School year begins in September.
